“Argh! That arrogant, pompous, long-winded, good for nothing, freak show of a prince! How dare he treat me like that? I am personally going to make his life a living hell!” Sierra said furiously. Not only was her honor at stake, but her pride as well.
“Sierra, you know you can’t do that and you know it, the queen would be furious and you know what she can and will do if you so much as batter an eyelid wrong!” Said Mica as she watched her lady pacing back and forth.
“Argh! You’re right as usual Mica, well better get ready, I don’t want Mr. High and Mighty to wait too long, and I know mother will be furious if I don’t look my best. Why does my mother have to be so infuriating?” Sierra said as she threw up her arms in frustration, and went to find a dress to wear for the ball. While Mica was already dressed in a forest green dress waiting for her lady to get ready.
She went to the closet to find herself a dress, and pulled out a steel-colored ball gown and began getting ready. She had pulled her hair into a high braid that fell down her back with sapphire jewels in her hair.
Suddenly there was a knock on Sierra’s door.
“Who is it?” She asked from inside her door.
“Sierra, it’s me, may I come in?” Shiko said from her side of the door.
“You know you can always come in,” Sierra said as she opened her door to let her in. Shiko was wearing a blood orange dress with her hair tied halfway up.
“It’s almost time for the ball, are you ready?” Asked Shiko
“Yep, I sure am. Let’s head to the ballroom and wait for the others.” Said Sierra as they gathered themselves together and headed down to the ballroom.
Selena, Doshi, and Kasumi finally made their way into Selena’s wing to get ready for the ball. Each went into their prospective chambers and began getting ready.
Selena was ready wearing a beautiful halter top gray dress that started out light gray and ended up an even lighter gray at the bottom. She had her hair put halfway up with braids that were twisted with light grey ribbons that were wrapped around her head to fall down her back.
Kasumi had finished getting ready a short time after Selena and was dressed in a white dress that had a wine-colored lace that was put over the top of the dress that also went down the side of the dress, and her blue hair was put into a high ponytail on top her head with a long wine-colored ribbon hanging from the base of the ponytail.
Doshi was now finished dressing and ready for the females to come out of their chambers. He was dressed in a black hakama and haori with a light grey juban underneath to match the bottom of Selena’s dress. He had added a little bit darker grey cape to match the top of Selena’s dress, and a sword strapped to his side.
After both females were ready they greeted Doshi as they came out of Selena’s chambers and they all began walking towards the ball chamber where they met up with Shay Lyn and Ai and Eris with her maids Suki and Yashira. Together they all continued on towards the ballroom.
When the ballroom came into view they all noticed Sierra and her maids Shiko and Mica waiting to enter the ballroom.
“Hey, Selena. You ready for the ball?” Sierra asked as the group walked up to them.
“Yes, I am,” Selena said nodding her head.
“Good then let’s get going,” Eris said as they waited for the door to open.
“Are you sure you’re going to be ok with this Doshi. I don’t want to do anything to make you upset with me?” Selena asked Doshi in her Inu voice which only came out as yips and growls to others listening.
“I’m sure Selena, nothing you could ever do could make me upset with you. I promise it’ll be alright.” He said back in the same voice.
Suddenly the trumpets sounded as the doors to the ball chamber opened.
“Presenting their royal highnesses Lord Doshi, Ladies Selena, Eris, Sierra, and their entourage!” The majordomo announced to all in the chamber.
All was silent in anticipation of their arrival; no one at the ball other than the queen and the Lord had seen the girls in all their royal beauty. As they entered gasps could be heard from every direction.
Sierra began looking around as if she were trying to find something and smirked when her eyes gazed upon the young lords’ back. Selena noticed Sierra looking for someone and she knew who she was looking for, so deciding to play a little she asked, “Sierra, who are you looking for?”
“Huh, oh no one,” Sierra responded looking at Haru.
“Oh I know, you’re looking for Haru aren’t you?” Selena asked playfully.
“No, I’m not,” Sierra said folding her arms.
“Ooh, there he is.” Selena said pointing to him “Let’s go and talk with him?” She said nudging her with her elbow. “It’s time to put my plan into motion.” She said in her Inu voice.
“I’ll be over here with your mother if you need me,” Doshi said in his Inu voice.
“Alright,” Selena said back nodding to him.
“Ok, yeah sure. Let’s go talk with him.” Sierra said as they walked the short distance between them and strolled up to the young lord and Sierra tapped him on the back.
“I say is that any way to treat the entrance of one of the guests of honor?” Sierra asked him.
“Stop that Sierra, that’s no way to treat a guest,” Selena said as she looked at Haru and winked.
“No you’re right, forgive me.” He turns to Selena and takes her hand. “My lady, you look very beautiful tonight, and I’m sorry for being so…”
Selena put a hand to her chest and said, “It’s alright my lord.”
Watching the exchange between Selena and Haru, Sierra was beginning to get angry and she turns to Eris.
“I wonder what’s going on with them?” Sierra asked her in her ear.
“I don’t know,” Eris replied back with a shrug of her shoulders.
Just then music starts to play, and Haru turns slightly more towards Selena.
“My lady, may I have this dance.” He holds out his hand to Selena.
“Huh, wouldn’t you rather dance with my sister?” Selena asked Haru, putting a hand to her chest.
“No, I wish to dance with you if it’s alright,” Haru said with a smile.
“Alright,” Selena said taking Haru’s hand in hers and they began dancing.
“So, do you think that your plan will work?” He asked her.
“Yes, I do, as you can see it’s already taking effect,” Selena responded.
Haru looked up at Sierra and was surprised to see her pacing and looking around like she was waiting for something.
“Hn…” He smirked and looked down at Selena. “What shall we do next?” He asked her.
“When the music stops take me over to another part of the ballroom, where Sierra can still hear and see us talking. We’ll put on a short act while she’s looking at us, and when she has all her senses on us you lean over and give me a quick kiss. I will look up at you and you will kiss me one more time. Will you have a problem doing that?” Selena said and looked up at him.
From the sideline, Eris’s eyes widened when she heard what Selena had planned for Sierra, and it was a good plan and she giggled from her spot.
“Not at all my lady.” He said with a smirk.
“After we do that you must lead me into the gardens and we’ll sit down on a bench and wait until she comes out, and tries to spy on us. We’ll kiss one more time after a brief few words. Then well let her pull us apart, but whatever happens after that, you must not interfere ok. Then you may take it from there.” Selena finished.
“Eris I need you to play along with Sierra so I can get her together with Haru,” Selena said telepathically to her. Eris looked at her and nodded
“Alright. I thank you for helping me out. If it wasn’t for you than she would never get together with me.” Haru said.
“It’s no problem at all. Now let’s finish this dance and let the plan begin.” Selena stated back.
“Yes let’s do it.” He said as they continued dancing until the end of the song, and Sierra and Eris walked up to them.
“Thanks for the dance Haru; it was a lot of fun,” Selena said looking at him with a smile.
“It was my pleasure, my lady.” Haru he said smiling back.
“So it’s my turn right, do I get a chance to dance with you?” Sierra asked Haru excitedly.
Totally ignoring Sierra Haru turns back to Selena and addresses her.
“Selena, would you be so kind and come with me I need to speak with you a moment?” He asked her.
“Sure.” She said as she looked at Sierra.
“Hey, that’s not fair Selena,” Sierra stated.
“Hn… I wonder what’s going on?” Eris asked whispering to Sierra and then winks at Selena.
“Sorry Sierra, you’ve had your chance,” Selena said sticking out her tongue and walked off with Haru.
They walked to a place in the ballroom that was close enough for Sierra to still hear and see them. Selena looked back at Sierra and noticed that her plan was beginning to work. Sierra was sitting by Eris watching everything that they were doing.
“I wonder what’s going on with them,” Sierra asked herself and continued to watch the pair.
That’s what Selena was waiting for. She looked to Sierra for a second and looked at Haru and nodded to him, and they began talking as the music started to end.
“Wow, that was a beautiful song. Don’t you think?” Selena asked putting her arms around her back.
“I thought so as well.” He stated back.
“Haru may I ask you a question?” Selena started.
“Sure what is it?” He asked looking at her.
“What do you think of Sierra?” She asked looking into the crowd of people.
Sierra’s eyes went wide as she heard her sister’s question, and waited to see what his response was going to be.
“Well, I think that she’s very different than anyone I’ve met before. She’s cute, but she’s a little too hot-headed for me. Why do you ask?” He asked her.
“Oh, nothing I was just wondering,” Selena said shrugging her shoulders.
“Oh come now, there must be a reason that you asked me that question.” He said as he moved behind her to take her in his arms.
“Really I was just asking.” She replied not knowing where he was going with this, she shrugged her shoulders and went on anyways.
“Uh-huh yeah right.” He said while turning her to face himself, leaned down, and kissed her softly before she could say anything else.
Sierra’s eyes widened at the kiss they shared.
When they came out of the kiss with a blush on her cheeks she said, “Haru?” She looked up at him with wide eyes playing her part well.
Just then was the right moment, Selena used her powers to magnify what Haru was going to say next so Sierra could hear him clearly. Then as soon as she did so he came eye to eye with her and then leaned down so he could whisper something in her ear.
“Selena, I think that I’m falling in love with you,” Haru whispered in her ear.
“That’s it I’ve had enough,” Sierra said to herself as she started to walk towards them.
“What are you doing Sierra?” Eris asked walking to catch up with her.
“I’m going to have a little chit chat with my so-called sister over there,” Sierra said as she turned back around heading towards Selena and Haru.
“Oh boy this isn’t going to be pretty.” She said to herself. “Selena I hope you’re ready for this cause she’s coming your way,” Eris said telepathically to Selena.
As soon as Selena heard what Eris said, she quickly took Haru’s face in her hands and kissed him once again. When they came out of the kiss Selena then turns to face Sierra and noticed that her eyes were bleeding red.
“Haru, I suggest you take your hands off of her,” Sierra said growling.
Everyone in the ballroom looked at her when she shouted. Haru walked forward and put his arm around Selena’s waist protectively. Knowing this would just piss her off more.
“I would stop your shouting my lady or you’re going to make a complete fool of yourself in front of all these people,” Haru said smirking.
“I will not say it again. Take your hands off her before I remove them for you.” Sierra said growling louder.
“Oh come on Sierra, that’s enough,” Eris said to Sierra and then looked around to see everyone staring and she started blushing.
“I won’t stop, not until he releases her,” Sierra shouted.
“Hn… what’s wrong Sierra, I thought that you weren’t interested in getting married or mated right now?” Selena asked smirking.
“Stop your games Selena, and just let him go already. You’ve made your point.” Sierra snapped.
“This is no game Sierra; this is the way things are. It’s either you choose, or you will be left with no one.” Selena said walking up to her face.
“But that’s not fair, and you know it,” Sierra said growling in her face.
“You dare growl at me?” Selena started to growl back as her eyes started to bleed red.
“Selena,” Kasumi said worried for her pup. She was about to go to her when Doshi held out his hand to stop her, and she turned to look at him. “Why do you stop me?” She asked him.
“I know this is hard to watch, but this was her plan, and we can’t interfere unless absolutely necessary,” Doshi said to help calm her.
“It’s hard, but I understand,” Kasumi said as she calmed slightly and continued to watch her pup.
“Sierra… Selena… That’s enough remember the lord and mother are watching.” Eris said trying to break their concentration.
Just then Haru noticed that it was time for him to step in as he stepped to the side of Selena and said, “Selena, would you be so kind as to accompany me outside to the gardens?” He asked as he put a hand on her shoulder and held out his other hand for Selena to take.
“It would be my pleasure, my lord,” Selena said as she calmed a little. He takes her hand and starts to lead her outside.
Selena gave a quick look back at Sierra with her eyes still red and they headed outside.
“Are you ok with this Haru?” She asked him fully back to normal.
“I sure am, I love every moment of it. It’s working so perfectly.” He said as they sat on a bench.
“Alright, this is the last phase of the plan. Are you ready?” She asked him.
“Yes.” He replied.
“Just remember whatever she does, just let me handle it. Ok?” She said as she made her eyes start to bleed once more.
“Ok, but what’s with your eyes turning red?” He asked her.
“There’s no time to explain, she’s coming our way. Let’s get ready.” She said back getting herself ready for a fight.
“You start first.” He said quietly to her.
Sierra watched as her sister and Haru walked out of the ballroom, and she began to slowly follow them out. When she got outside she saw them going behind a wall of bushes and began to walk closer so she could hear what they were saying. As she got closer to the bushes she heard her sister begin talking.
“Haru, I don’t understand why you’re being so nice to me, you know that you are supposed to be with Sierra?” She asked as she got up fast and turns away from him with her eyes going back to normal.
“Selena, I don’t care about Sierra, I’d love to be with you.” He said walking up behind her to put his arms around her and kissed her neck softly.
“But Haru, I‘ve never had someone love me before.” She began and he turned her around to face him.
“Selena I want you, no one else,” Haru said brushing a bit of hair out of her face.
“But…” She began but he stopped her with a kiss.
That was the last straw for Sierra, she got even angrier and headed straight for Selena, pulling her away from Haru and started hitting her, and they began fighting.
“You traitor, you took him from me!” She growled out yelling at her.
“What are you talking about Sierra? Get off me!” Selena said as she kicks her off of herself. Selena got up off the ground and started to brush herself off.
“Hey, Selena,” Sierra called out.
“What!” Selena snapped walking forward towards Sierra.
“This is for you dear sister,” Sierra said as she leaps towards Selena quickly and punches Selena in the mouth and watched her fall to the ground.
Selena growls and jumps up quickly with her eyes bleeding red once more.
Haru noticed this and knowing that this was the moment he was waiting for. He knew he had to stop this before it got even more out of control. He sighed as he jumped in between them before Selena could kill her.
“Selena, I will handle this.” He said looking back at her narrowing his eyes. She looked up at him and nodded, and then he turned to face Sierra. “That’s enough Sierra, I need you to come with me now and we’ll talk.” He said softly to her.
“Alright,” Sierra said as she walked towards him.
Selena looked at Haru and smiled as they walked off together. On wobbly legs, she went and sat back down on the bench, and wiped off the blood that was coming from her now bloody lip.
“Huh… So she has fight in her after all.” Selena said as she wiped a bit of blood from her lip.
Just then inside the ball chamber Doshi and Kasumi caught the scent of Selena’s blood, and they rushed outside to see her. When they came outside and began looking for her Doshi sees her sitting on a bench wiping her mouth.
“Go to her,” Kasumi said nudging him forward.
“Yes.” He nodded to her and he walks towards Selena. “Hey, you alright?” He asked walking up to her.
“Yeah, I’m fine Doshi.” She said with a sigh as she watched him kneel down to her level.
“It doesn’t seem like you’re ok.” He said looking at her face. He reached up and rubbed her lip.
“I’m fine Doshi. As you can see the plan worked, and from her frustrations she hit me.” She said.
“Here let me help you.” He said as he rises and takes Selena’s hands and pulls her with him. They walk over to a fountain; he took off a piece of cloth from his outfit and put it in the cool waters to help wipe the blood off Selena’s face.
“Thank you for helping me, Doshi. I know it was difficult for you to see me do that, but it had to be done.” Selena said.
“It’s alright I understand that it had to happen the way it did. Are you going to be ok now?” He asked her pulling her to stand.
“I will be fine now thanks to you,” Selena said as she tensed.
When Doshi felt her tense in his arms he wondered why and he extended his senses to see that it was Delos walking towards them.
“Hey, I just wanted to stop by and see you,” Delos said walking up to her. “Oh my what happened to your lip?” He asked taking her face and looking at her lip.
“Nothing, Sierra just got mad at me and hit me. I’m fine Delos no need to worry.” She said taking a step back from him.
“That isn’t nothing Selena. You shouldn’t be getting hurt like that.” He said looking at Doshi.
“Don’t look at him like that Delos. He had nothing to do with what happened.” She said as she began growling.
“How can I be so sure about that?” He asked her turning back to her.
“Just trust me; he wasn’t at all involved with what happened here,” Selena said as she sighed.
“Ok. I guess I can accept that for now.” He said looking at Doshi. “Now would you please excuse me, my lady, I have to go see about something,” Delos said bowing shortly before turning and walking off.
“Hn… How rude.” Selena said putting her hands on her hips and then turned to look at Doshi. “I’m sorry about him Doshi, I thank you for helping me and I really appreciate it.
“It’s alright Selena don’t worry,” Doshi said hugging her.
“Are you alright Selena?” Kasumi asked walking up to the pair
“Yes, mother I’m fine,” Selena replied nodding to her.
“Alright, I’m glad you’re fine; let’s head back inside so that woman doesn’t come out looking for you two.
“You’re right, let’s be off.” Said Doshi as he put his arm around Selena and the three of them began walking towards the ballroom.
When they got into the ballroom they noticed Sierra and Haru dancing in the middle of the chamber.
“Well, would you look at that. They’re dancing together.” Selena said shaking her head as she felt her mother heading towards them.
“Selena, I’m not happy about what you did to get them together, but I do understand your reasoning of doing it the way you did, and I’m happy that you did so.” Queen Azume said walking up to Selena.
“I didn’t do it for you mother, I did it for Sierra. All I did was use what I know of her and used it. It didn’t take brains to figure out that she’s jealous of me.” She replied to her mother growling softly.
“Selena stop that.” Kasumi said sternly.
“I apologize, would you three excuse me I need to go sit down.” She said lifting her hand to rub her head.
“That’s fine Selena.” Queen Azume said as they all went and took their seats.

After a short while, the music stopped playing and Haru and Sierra sat down. Just as they sat down Delos walked up to them and sat next to his brother.
“So I see you two are getting along well.” Said Delos.
“Yeah, now we are. You must thank Selena for getting your brother and me together.” Replied Sierra as she leaned over to look at him.
“I will, but what did she actually do to get you two together, I only got a few bits of it from Selena herself?” He asked.
“Selena got the idea to make Sierra here jealous of her so that in the end I could get closer to Sierra.” Replied Haru.
“So why was her lip hurt when I saw her?” Asked Delos.
“Yeah in my frustrations I hit her,” Sierra said with a light blush on her face.
“Yes, and it was after that, that I knew that if I didn’t stop Selena she would have attacked and possibly killed Sierra,” Haru said looking between Sierra and Delos.
“Ah ok, I’m glad you stopped her then,” Delos replied.
“Um Delos this is just a question, but do you love her?” Asked Haru as he waited for his brother to answer.
“…” He starts to blush.
“Ah, that’s what I thought,” Haru said laughing a little at his brothers’ blush.
“Please don’t say, anything brother, I will tell her when I’m ready,” Delos replied quickly.
“Alright, but be honest with her when you do decide to tell her, and you better make it soon. It seems like that other male over there wants her too.” Haru said as he motioned to Doshi sitting by Selena talking softly with her.
“Yeah, you’re right, thanks, brother,” Delos said as he rose from his spot.
“No problem little brother,” Haru responded with a short nod of his head. “I would suggest you go to her, she looks like she’s waiting for you to sweep her off her feet,” Haru stated as they both looked at Selena once more. Delos turned and headed towards Selena.
“Wow two males, this is great news I must go tell my king the good news,” Themis said silently to himself as he turns and walks off.
On the other side of the ballroom, Selena and Doshi were talking silently to themselves when music begins to play and the Lord rose from his seat to address the ballroom.
“Lords and Ladies this will be our last dance of the evening I hope you’ve all had a great time tonight. Safe journeys on your way back to your homes.” Lord Eien said to all in the chamber.
Hearing this Delos thought then it was the perfect time to tell Selena how much she meant to him and he walked up before her and addressed her.
“My lady, may I have this dance?” Delos asked holding out his hand to her and sneaking a glance at Doshi with a smirk on his face.
“Selena be careful he seems to be up to something,” Doshi said in his Inu voice.
“I will, I promise. I shall call you if I need assistance.” Selena said back in Inu and then faced Delos. “Sure I'd love to dance.” She said rising from her seat and walked forward putting her hand in his.
He then took her hand and led her to the middle of the ballroom and they began dancing. After a while, Selena noticed that Delos was acting differently, his aura was changing but she couldn’t figure out what was going on so she decided to wait and see what he would do.
Finally, after a while of dancing, he speaks up.
“My lady.” Said Delos.
“Yes, Delos.” She responded looking up at him.
“…” He paused for a moment.
“Delos, what’s wrong?” She asked a little worried.
“Nothing’s wrong. I just want to tell you something, but I don’t know how to tell you.” He said blushing and turning his head to the side.
“What do you want to tell me, Delos? It’s alright you can tell me.” Selena said turning his face to face hers.
The moment she shifted his face to meet hers that's when she saw it. Delo's aura had changed.
“Well from the moment I met you, I knew that you and I were meant for each other.” Delos began.
From Selena’s end, she was starting to get really uncomfortable with what he was saying and decided to see where he was going with this.
“I...” She started but he silenced her with his fingers to her lips.
“Selena I… I think that I’m in love with you.” He said blushing.
“Ok, now I‘m uncomfortable.” She said to herself. “I don’t know what to say, Delos.” She said as she turned her mind to Doshi. “Doshi I could use your assistance over here please.” She said to him telepathically.
“Sure Selena, I’m on my way over to you,” Doshi responded as he got up from his chair and headed towards her.
“Say you love me too. That’s all you need to say.” He responded.
“I…” She started then Doshi came up to them.
“Um excuse me may I have this dance?” He asked Selena holding out his hand.
“No you may not, Selena and I were talking,” Delos said from his spot still holding onto Selena.
“I’m afraid it’s not up to you to decide that Delos. It’s Selena’s choice.” Doshi said calmly.
Selena looked between the two and then looked at her mother and said, “Mother I need your help.” Selena said telepathically to her.
“Yes, my pup,” Kasumi said as she got up from her seat and walked quickly towards her pup.
“Not at the moment, it’s not. I will say when she can go, not the other way around.” Delos said as his hands wrapped around her arms tighter pricking her at the same time with his claws drawing a little blood.
“Ow Delos you're hurting me. You need to let go.” Selena said getting a little worried.
Just then Kasumi walked up to the three of them.
“You will let go of her this instant or you will have to deal with me pup,” Kasumi said with a growl in her voice.
“Fine then have it your way,” Delos said as he pushed her back making her almost lose her balance, but Doshi was there to prevent her from falling.
“What do you think you’re doing Delos?” Doshi said as he steadied Selena.
“Nothing, but soon I will have her for my mate.” Delos snapped at him.
“I don’t think so… not” He began until Selena turned in his arms and put a hand on the side of his face.
“That’s enough. Doshi would you please come with me I need to speak with you.” She said looking at both of them.
“Sure, Selena,” Doshi responded as he takes her hand and leads her away from Delos, and Kasumi went to take her seat.
“Mark my words Doshi she will be mine, even if I have to kill you to have her,” Delos said to himself. Luckily Selena heard him and told Doshi to stay close to her. She looked at him once more and watched as he turned and left the ball chamber.
“He’s finally gone. That was really uncomfortable. Thank you, Doshi.” Selena said with a sigh.
“It’s no problem Koi,” Doshi said as his eyes widened when he caught just what he said to her.
“Koi? Doshi do you love me?” She asked with a light blush on her cheeks.
“I have to admit it. I am very much in love with you Selena, but I wasn’t sure how to tell you.” Doshi said with a blush of his own. “Ever since I’ve helped you to transform, and we went to go see father and found out we were no longer siblings I was overjoyed knowing that now I could love you without any interferences.” He said bringing her closer.
“So you’ve loved me all along haven’t you?” She asked him putting her arms around his neck.
“Even when I thought we were kin, I never really believed that we were, and so after Kenji left I started to have a deeper connection to you. So when we found out we were no longer kin, my feelings started to develop more for you, and now I am very much in love with you.”
“I felt the same way too. Doshi, you wanna know something?” she said smiling up at him.
“Sure.” He said.
“I am in love with you as well, the same feeling started about the same time yours did, and my feelings developed strongly for you ever since we‘ve found out everything.” She said as she blushed and looked away.
“Really, do you mean it?” He said taking her chin in his hand and made her look at him.
“Yes, I really do mean it… I love you, Doshi.” She said nodding her head and smiling.
“I love you too Koi.” He replied back, leans in, and kisses her.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the ballroom, Sierra and Haru are still sitting together talking.
“Haru, could I ask you something?” Sierra asked looking into the crowd.
“Sure.” He said and looks at her.
“I wanted to know why you chose me when you could have had my sister?” She asked him with a sigh.
“Sierra, from the moment I laid my eyes on you I knew you were the one for me, but I knew that you didn’t want to get married and I understand that. I for one didn’t want to get married either, but when I looked at you that all changed for me. So when you left the ballroom, I had to think of something to change your mind. That’s where your sister came in. She knew that you have a jealous streak in you so she used that in order to get you and me together.” He said taking her hand in his.
“You’re serious?” She said with a raised eyebrow.
“I am.” He said nodding his head.
“Thank you, Haru, for being honest with me,” Sierra said.
“That’s no problem.” He said as Sierra leaned her head on his shoulder.
In another part of the ballroom, Eris was now dancing and talking with Taro. As she looked around she saw Doshi and Selena and wondered if she would ever get that for herself.
“Taro?” Eris said as she glanced at Selena and Doshi again.
“Yes, what is it?” Taro replied.
“Oh, nothing. Never mind.” She said as she continued to watch Selena and Doshi.
“Come on Eris, what’s wrong? You can always talk to me you know.” He said as he grabs her chin to make her look at him.
“Hn… Taro.” She began. “I want to be happy like they are.” They both look at Selena and Doshi dancing. “Do you think I will ever be happy like them?” She said with a sigh.
“Yes, in fact, you don’t know how long I’ve waited for you to say that,” Taro responded.
“Huh, what do you mean?” Eris asked with a raised brow.
“Ever since I first laid eyes on you I have desired you. At first, it was because I thought you were a powerful female, but as time went by I saw a lot more than just a powerful female.” He said.
“What was it you saw in me? If you don’t mind me asking.” She said now curious as to what his answer might be.
“Not at all. I saw a woman with kindness in her eyes, loyalty to others, love for others above her own, and from that I just fell in love with you.” He replied as he smiled at her.
“That’s so beautiful Taro.” She replied blushing.
“So what do you think of me?” He asked.
“Well, I think you are very sweet, kind, probably very loyal to those you care about, and very good looking. All good qualities that I look for in a male.
“I’m glad to hear that kitten.” He said hugging her.
“Kitten, I love the sound of that.” She said as she sighed into his chest.
“So do I.” He said as he lifted her face to kiss her. “Now you can be happy as they are.”
“Yes, and thank you.” She said as they kissed once more.
Back on the other side of the room, all the pairs were talking quietly to themselves when Haru and Sierra decided to go dance. They met in the middle of the room where her sisters were already dancing with their males. Sierra walked up to Selena, stood next to her, and said, "Let’s see which pair can dance the best..." There was a small silence between them and she continued, "How about it, are you two game?” She asked as she looked to Eris and then back to Selena awaiting their answers.
“I don’t know Sierra. Doshi and I will beat you for sure. We are the best dancers at this ball.” Selena said turning her head to look at her.
“Don’t be so sure about that my lady,” Haru said jokingly.
Taro scoffed lightly and said, “Yeah my lady, don’t flatter yourself.”
“I have to agree with the boys you two will not beat us, we are the best dancers here,” Sierra said with a giggle to her voice.
“Hn… lets show them that you and I are the best.” Doshi said to her in her mind.
“Yeah let’s do this, I’m game,” Selena said with a nod of her head and smirk on her face.
“So which pair should go first then?” Asked Sierra.
“Doshi and I will go last, so it’s up to y'all to decide who goes first,” Selena responded.
Eris looked at Sierra, shrugged her shoulders and awaited her answer.
“Alright then Haru and I will go first.” She said looking at him to see him nod. “And then it will be you and Eris.” She finished and faced Eris and Taro.
“Sounds good,” Eris said.
Selena, Doshi, Taro, and Eris then stood to the side while Haru and Sierra strutted their stuff. The music began to play and Sierra and Haru began there dance. While the music was playing Doshi and Selena started dancing in sync along with Sierra and Haru, but no one noticed, but Selena‘s mother Kasumi. They danced for some time until the music stopped.
“Alright next up is you and Taro,” Selena said motioning Eris forward.
“Alright,” Eris said nodding her head.
“Yes let’s do it,” Taro said taking her hand.
They walked to the center of the ballroom and waited for their song to start, and when it did they began dancing. At the end of their dance, a lot of people clapped, now all eyes were on Doshi and Selena, as they took this as a cue and walked to the center of the ballroom.
“Are you ready my love?” He asked her in her mind.
Selena looked at Doshi and nodded, and then they turned walking apart from each other, faced each other and waited for the song to begin. When the music begins to play they begin dancing. They continued dancing until the end of the song. Then the whole ballroom clapped as they finished the dance. Out of breath, they stood there for a second.
Eien stood from his throne and addressed the crowd and the dancers, “That was good dancing all of you. Now let’s judge the winners. All of you stand up here.” Eien said as they all walked forward and then turned to face everyone else in the ball chamber. “I will place my hand above each couple and by your applause, I will choose a winner.”
He places his hand above Sierra and Haru people in the ballroom cheered and clapped, he did the same for Eris and Taro, but when he put his hand over Selena and Doshi the crowd went wild and cheered for them. When the cheering and applause stopped Eris and Sierra looked at Selena and she smirked looking out into the crowd.
“It’s clear that we have our winners… Selena and Doshi.” He said as everyone in the chamber clapped again, and Azume stood to address all in the chamber.
“I wanted to thank you all for coming this evening. I hope you’ve had a wonderful night. We must bid you all a good night, and we wish for you all to be careful on your way out. Good night to all of you.” Queen Azume said as she and her mate stood waiting for everyone to leave the ball chamber.
“Wow great job you two.” Kasumi said walking up to Selena and Doshi. When Selena turned and looked at her, she continued silently. “You have done well my pup, I am very proud of you.” She told Selena telepathically.
“Thank you.” Selena said.
“Yes, thank you.” Doshi said as they turned to the queen and lord to address them.
“We wish you both a good night,” Doshi said as he and Selena bowed, and the three of them left the ball chamber heading to Selena’s wing.
“Yes have a nice evening.” Eris and Taro said as they bowed and walked out of the ballroom.
“Good night my lord and lady.” Haru said as he and Sierra bowed and walked out of the ball chamber.
Selena, Doshi, and Kasumi were the first to enter her wing and they all walked down the hall to their chambers.
“We’re here, sleep well Doshi.” Selena said.
“I will, thank you.” He said to her with a nod.
“Have a good night Doshi.” She said yawning.
“You seem tired as well you should go and get some sleep too,” Doshi said as he hugs her close.
“I will.” She said as she yawned again.
“Good night then Koi.” He said kissing her cheek.
“Good night.” She said blushing, and he turns and walks unto his chamber. After he went inside she turned to her mother.
“Yes. You have definitely chosen a good male my little one, your father would be very proud of you.” Kasumi said putting her arms around her. Holding her close with her back to her chest.
“Thanks momma, I think I have chosen well too. I’m glad you approve of him.” Selena said with a sigh as she melted in her mother’s embrace.
“I had already approved of him when you told me about him the first time.” Kasumi responded.
“Really?” She said as she turned to look at her.
“Yes my pup, now it’s time for us both to rest, for tomorrow I will begin your new training,” Kasumi said pushing a stray hair behind Selena’s ear.
“Ok momma, have a good night, if you need anything I’ll be right next door.” Selena said as she yawned again.
Kasumi nodded to her and she and Selena turned heading into their chambers. They both got undressed, and went to bed.
Sierra and Haru arrived at the guest wing where Haru was staying in.
“Good night my love. I will see you tomorrow right?” Sierra asked as they walked into the wing heading towards his quarters.
“Yes, my love. Now go and get some rest you look exhausted.” Haru said hugging her.
“I will have a good night then.” Sierra said as she pulled away from him, and kissed him on his cheek.
“Good night to you as well love.” Haru said as he turned and walked into his chamber, and Sierra turned heading to her own wing to sleep.
The last to arrive in the guest wing was Eris and Taro. He glanced at her when he notices her yawn.
“You seem, tired love, why not go to bed?” He asked her when they arrived outside his door.
“I will, but it wouldn’t be proper of me to leave you to find your own chamber. I shall be fine, no need to worry love.” Eris said yawing again.
“Well go on then, and I will see you tomorrow ok,” Taro said nudging her.
“Ok love see you tomorrow.” She replied and kissed him when they broke the kiss he nodded to her once more and headed inside his chamber. Eris then smiled and headed to her own wing to get some sleep.
